 2008-05-07 “Together”. The mental illness is not an isolated condition about individual person but it is a topic concerning the entire society. The mental disease in its drammaticism isn’t considered like incurable “tout court”.. there are positive experiences, often ignored, like attestation of a long and difficult way towards a dignified life. “Together” is the power that holds a tie in unconditioned way in spite of the disease and necessity to be far for resuming themselves and to be understood.
This photographic work includeds 14 triptychs in medium size realized during 2005 - 2006 years.
Raffaella Gentile (b. 1977, Italy) - after a three years master class in photography in Rome taking part of some workshops with Michael Ackerman, Ivo Saglietti, Massimo Siragusa and Lorenzo Castore. In the last years her photographs are selected for “Voies off” of the Rencontres de la Photographie of Arles, Epson Italia Award, Contemporary Museum Photography in Milan and for Boutographies Festival in Montpellier. In the 2007 year she is selected from the Trentino APT for a workshop with Gianni Berengo Gardin about the Rovereto town. In the same year she wins the TPW Prize of the Canon Young Photographer Prize and she exposes her photographic work to “Grazia Neri” gallery in Milan. She is selected for Rome’s International Festival 2008. |
